A strong presence in the regional event scene, Thailand Game Show serves as an annual celebration of gaming culture, with the show floor graced by demo booths, stage appearances and performances, various interactive activities, and more. This year’s iteration saw gamescom asia, previously held in Singapore, onboarding the fanfare for the first time at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok, from 16 to 19 October.

The merger has proven to be an overwhelming success, scoring a record-breaking 206,159 attendees across the four days. Following in the footsteps of tradition, gamescom asia X Thailand Game Show 2025 boasted both indie showcases and big-name headliners, including Capcom, Nintendo, Xbox, and Bandai Namco Entertainment, as well as standalone titles like Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
Looming over the Bandai Namco Entertainment booth was a magnificent 7m-tall inflatable of the Monster Baby from Little Nightmares III, drawing impressed and awed looks from the crowd, who were quick to capture photos or videos of it. The carnival theming was also used as decór for demo booths featuring, well, Little Nightmares III, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, and My Hero Academia: All’s Justice, while Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree got its own spruced-up space inspired by the elements of the game, and a mascot appearance starring Nishiki, one of the eight playable characters.

Over at the Once Upon a Katamari area, a train carrying various Katamari made its rounds on the track, as visitors engaged in some DIY, or do-it-yourself, fun. The interactive experience involved choosing a design, colouring it in, and witnessing a transformation into a customised keychain through heat shrinking, which made for a special memory.

The highlight, though, was a meet-and-greet with Teruki Endo, the battle director for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, due to hit the Nintendo Switch 2 next 26 January. Held from 2pm to 3pm on Saturday (18 October), it attracted a sizeable crowd with a photo-taking opportunity and an exclusive autographed card featuring characters like Cloud, Sepiroth, Tifa, Aerith, Reno, and more. Additionally, event-goers could also try their hand at playable demos of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade for the Switch 2, Dragon Quest I and II HD-2D Remake, and more within the booth, decked out in Honeybee Inn embellishments from the game.

Rounding out the Bandai Namco Entertainment booth experience was a stamp rally, which rewarded special freebies to attendees who completed the tasks, marking an apt end to the company’s biggest title showcase yet for the convention.
With gamescom asia X Thailand Game Show 2025 surpassing the milestone of 200,000 attendees, the gaming fever is clearly here to stay. Only time will tell if the event can keep this momentum going forward, but for now, it continues to be one of region’s leading gaming shows, with next year’s iteration already confirmed to take place in Bangkok again on 29 October to 1 November 2026.
