Bryan Fuller, the creator of the psychological horror-thriller series Hannibal, is set to reunite with actor Mads Mikkelsen for Dust Bunny, a fairytale-themed horror thriller set for release in December.
Marking Fuller’s directorial debut, Dust Bunny follows the story of a young girl named Aurora (Sophie Sloan), who witnesses her family being killed by what she believes is the monster living under her bed. With no one else to turn to, she approaches her mysterious neighbour for help (Mikkelsen), who happens to be a hit-man who believes that her parent’s were killed by assassins searching for him. Feeling guilty for his apparent role in their deaths, Mikkelsen’s character agrees to protect the girl from the immenent threat.
While the film’s first trailer aptly refrains from revealing too much of its plot, it provides no shortage of colourful action sequences where Mikkelsen’s protagonist faces off against waves of killers targeting Aurora, all wrapped up in an almost supernatural mystery surrounding the truth of Aurora and her parent’s murder.

Dust Bunny will also star Sigourney Weaver (Alien, Avatar), a fellow hit-man who seems to know a lot about Mikkelsen’s character’s past, hinting that this isn’t simply a case of hit-man trying to settle a score, and that there’s more lyiung beneath the surface.
Dust Bunny will launch in theatres on 5 December 2025.
