For the eighth year running, Pokémon fans can treat their taste buds to sweet delights themed after the beloved franchise. Mister Donut has revealed the latest designs and merchandise for its upcoming annual collaboration, with the fifth-generation Foongus coming in as the featured creature alongside mascot Pikachu.

Mister Donut X Pokémon Collaboration Foongus

The collaboration will launch on 5 November in Japan, accompanied by the catchphrase “tamage ta, which translates roughly to “it’s amazing!”, and is a play on the critter’s Japanese name, Tamagatake. The Grass/Poison-type debuted in Pokémon Black & White, and follows in the footsteps of 2020’s Chansey, Eevee (2021), Jigglypuff and Snow Pikachu (2022), Psyduck (2023), and Diglett (2024) as the headliner.

Here’s the full lineup of the menu offerings:

  • Fluffy Pikachu Donut (¥341 / S$2.90): a fluffy yeast doughnut filled with whipped cream and topped with custard-flavored flakes and chocolate crunch.
  • Amazing Tamagetake Donut (¥341 / S$2.90): a cake doughnut coated with white chocolate and strawberry chocolate, sitting on top of a whipped cream-filled choux pastry glazed in white chocolate.
  • Crunchy Pikachu Tail Donut (¥264 / S$2.25): choux pastry coated in white chocolate and yellow crunchy toppings and a pick (not edible) Pikachu tail decoration.
  • Amazing Mimikkyu Chocolate Donut (¥231 / S$1.97): a chocolate cake doughnut, filled with custard and whipped cream, and served in a special Mimikyu-themed sleeve.
  • Voltorb Donut White (¥226 / S$1.92): cake doughnut sandwiched with custard and whipped cream and covered in white chocolate.

Additionally, the Mister Donut and Pokémon tie-up will offer exclusive merchandise available through two special bundles — the regular goods set (¥2,114 / S$18) and the children’s set (¥1,100 / S$9.37). The former includes two doughnuts of your choice from the collection, one of the outlet’s flagship Pon de Ring doughnuts and your choice of blanket pattern, all wrapped in an original Pokémon paper bag.

As for the latter, the combo comes with one Pokémon doughnut, one Pon de Ring, and a 9cm-tall Pokémon glass packaged in an original paper bag.

The new Pokémon collaboration doughnuts will be available at Mister Donut outlets across Japan starting 5 November until late December, and the goods sets are up for grabs while supplies last.

Aniplus Café Sets ‘Haikyu!!’ Collaboration For Newly Refurbished Space https://geekculture.co/aniplus-cafe-sets-haikyu-collaboration-for-newly-refurbished-space/ Fri, 24 Oct 2025 20:20:27 +0000 https://geekculture.co/?p=326053

Aiming for the top with Singapore's first official Haikyu!! café.

The post Aniplus Café Sets ‘Haikyu!!’ Collaboration For Newly Refurbished Space appeared first on Geek Culture.

]]>

For those who’ve been around, Aniplus Café has become a familiar sight along the Annexe stretch of Esplande Mall, but that’ll no longer be the case. Now situated within the mall itself, it offers an expanded new space for the first time in six years, launching alongside a new official Haikyu!! collaboration – the first of its kind in Singapore.

https://www.tiktok.com/@geekculture/video/7565059081078164754?_r=1&_t=ZS-90tGtkOW8IC

The excitement kicks in before visitors step into the café, with standees of popular characters like Hinata, Kageyama, Tsukishima, Oikawa, Kenma, and Kuroo lining the exterior, and the much-loved Bokuto-Akaashi pair greeting them at the entrance. Unlike before, the merchandise area is tucked away from the dining premises in a dedicated spot, while a row of gacha machines presents an opportunity to tempt luck.

On the inside, themed décor adorns the tables and pillars, joining two larger-scale installations that pay homage to the franchise – one featuring a net and the Miya brothers, Atsumu and Osamu, and another set up like a court, complete with a scoreboard flipper and a giant display showcasing the various trailers and iconic moments over the years. Keep your eyes peeled, and there’s even a neat reference to Hinata’s highest jump reach (fans can take on the jump challenge and see how they fare against the Ultimate Decoy!).

As the hunger pangs set in, it’s time to dig in. The Aniplus Café x Haikyu!! collaboration assigns each of the five major school teams to its menu offerings, starting with drinks priced at S$9 each: Mango Citrus Punch (Karasuno), Apple Berry Ade (Nekoma), Melon Soda Float (Aoba Johsai), Brown Sugar Hojiacha Latte (Furkurodani), and Blackcurrant Lychee Float (Inarizaki).

Aniplus Café X Haikyu!! (10)

The main dishes – the names of which are a direct reference to the slogan of the respective school team – and desserts are also paired up accordingly, with Tangerine French Toast (S$19) and “Fly” Curry Omurice (S$21) representing Karasuno, alongside the following:

  • Nekoma: Pudding Parfait (S$19) / “Connect” Sanma Takikomi Gohan (S$21)
  • Aoba Johsai: Fruit Sando (S$19) / “Rule the Court” Broccoli Pesto Past (S$21)
  • Fukurodani: Pistachio Pancakes (S$19) / “One Ball, Heart and Soul” Yakiniku Rice Bowl (S$22.50)
  • Inarizaki: Cranberry Mochi Parfait (S$19) / “We Don’t Need Memories” Kitsune Udon Meal (S$22.50)

Each purchase of a collab main or dessert includes one random acrylic coaster out of 11 designs, while drink orders come with one random memorial card out of 10 designs. For those looking to buy more merchandise, there will be exclusive offerings available, including Café Original SD character illustrations.

Rounding out the Aniplus Café x Haikyu!! experience is a meet-and-greet with the bird mascots of Hinata and Kageyama, known affectively as Hinagarasu and Kagegarasu, on 25 and 26 October. Additionally, a scavenger hunt will run from 24 October to 13 November, inviting fans to locate various mini-sized secret objects hidden within the store and win Aniplus Café vouchers and exclusive merchandise.

The collaboration is happening now till 18 December.

La Tendo’s Anime Café, Dimension Poptown, Opens With ‘Heaven’s Official Blessing’ Collaboration In Singapore https://geekculture.co/la-tendo-dimension-poptown-anime-cafe-heavens-official-blessing-singapore/ Sat, 26 Jul 2025 01:21:28 +0000 https://geekculture.co/?p=321206

The first ascension to culinary enjoyment.

The post La Tendo’s Anime Café, Dimension Poptown, Opens With ‘Heaven’s Official Blessing’ Collaboration In Singapore appeared first on Geek Culture.

]]>

For anime and video game aficionados in Singapore, there’s no more familiar name than La Tendo. The retail store in Suntec City Mall has grown into a crowd favourite with its wide range of merchandise, including action figures, model kits, can badges, and more, that seeks to satisfy different interests and niches.

Now, the brand is setting its sights on a new expansion effort: food. Enter its first anime collaboration café, Dimension Poptown Café, complete with a new theme for every cycle. But there’s a catch – the menu is entirely vegetarian-friendly, and its Heaven Official’s Blessing opener tie-up offered a promising taste of its future.

While collaboration cafés have traditionally focused on experience over food quality, the cosy space, surprisingly enough, features a balance of both. A queue could be seen on its opening day, 25 July, with a cutout of Hua Cheng and Xie Lian greeting fans at the entrance. The merchandise area is nestled behind, where coasters, acrylic stands, prints, blind bag badges, and more can be purchased.

Along the way, posters and key visuals of the pair adorn the walls and tables, as visitors are ushered to their seats. Food orders are placed at the front counter, and once done, all that’s left is to wait for the dishes to arrive.

In any case, there won’t be a shortage of visual appeal. Most, if not all, of the menu items bear traces of red/black and white/gold – the main colours of Hua Cheng and Xie Lian, respectively – with the contrast adding to the striking look. Each purchase includes exclusive collaboration merchandise, categorised by the type of food: placemats for the main-course dishes, photo cards for desserts, and acrylic coasters for refreshments.

Drinks are priced at S$9 each, coming up to six in total: Fragrance of the Frost (passionfruit with probiotics soda), Elation (mixed berries soda), Golden Elixir of the Osmanthus (honey osmanthus), Dew of the Roselle (rose mixed berry soda), Pure Nectar of the Immortal (mango coconut milk), and Snow-capped Plum Blossoms (strawberry milk foam).

As for the remaining dishes, here are the details:

  • Main Dishes (S$24 each)
    • Rendezvous of Sun and Moon: Taro with Golden Mushroom and Konjac Soy Meat, served with Red Rice Roll
    • Match Made in Heaven: Soya meat pieces with green and red peppers, served with Chinese yam, Lily Bulb Soya Milk and Oat
    • Fluttering Amongst the Flowers: Egg crepe, served with cherries
  • Desserts (S$26 each)
    • Beneath the Peach Tree: Fluffy shaved ice with strawberry
    • Token of Trust: Donut cakes, served with vanilla and strawberry ice cream
    • Wishing Lanterns atop the Cityscape: Maple Leaf Cake, served with Flower Mousse

The entire lineup was a surprise delight for the taste buds, leaving nothing but satisfaction in its wake. Alongside Rendezvous of Sun and Moon, or more specifically, the red rice roll, the standouts for the other two series are Beneath the Peach Tree, which impressed with a light yet sweet taste profile, and the tooth-shaped Elation, striking a balance between effervescence and fruity tones.

The La Tendo X Dimension Poptown anime café collaboration with Heaven’s Official Blessing is underway at 3 Temasek Blvd, #03-347, Singapore 038983.

Following a first-ever Monster Hunter X Sushiro collaboration in Singapore, Capcom is back with another culinary knockout — this time featuring its arguably best-known flagship franchise: Street Fighter. The latest tie-in comes as Street Fighter 6 celebrates its second anniversary, treating fans to a limited-time menu and exclusive merchandise starting 18 June.

The fight will come to all outlets islandwide, with Suntec City and Perennial Business City transformed into a themed space comprising in-game visuals, photo spots, and in-store experiences. Three special dishes are available for order during the event, each served with a free character food pick illustrated in a 16-bit pixel art style, adding up to a total of 34 random designs.

Here’s what to expect from the new (if temporary) additions:

  • Giant Cut Fresh Salmon in Yuzu Soy (S$4.50)
  • Shiokoji Scallop with Salmon Roe (S$4.50)
  • Almond Pudding with Strawberry Sauce (S$3.50)

Those who spend a minimum of S$20 in a single receipt are eligible to purchase up to three merchandise items per receipt, which feature a different set of characters across two waves. Wave 1, running from 18 June to 8 July, shines the spotlight on Ryu, Jun and Chun-Li, and Cammy and E. Honda as keychains, joining character plushies of Cammy, Akuma, and Ed.

The second wave, spanning 9 to 31 July, includes Blanka and Lily, Dee Jay and Kimberly, and Sakura and Dan as part of the keychain lineup. The keychains are available at an additional S$8.90 each, while the character plushies retail for S$15.90. A third exclusive offering, the Street Fighter Canvas Bag, depicts a beefed-up Sushiro mascot standing proudly at the front alongside the game’s characters and can be purchased at S$14.90.

Released on 2 June 2023, Street Fighter 6 is the seventh and latest mainline entry in the beloved franchise, offering three overarching game modes, three control options, and a real-time commentary system that provides a tournament-style feel and the option to cheer on the player. It has sold over five million units to date, with total sales for the series coming in at 56 million units worldwide as of last December.

The Street Fighter X Sushiro collaboration brings the fists and feast to Singapore from 18 June to 31 July.

Monster Hunter X Sushiro Collaboration Whets(tone) Appetite For Adventure In Singapore https://geekculture.co/monster-hunter-x-sushiro-collaboration-whetstone-appetite-for-adventure-in-singapore/ Wed, 02 Apr 2025 12:00:14 +0000 https://geekculture.co/?p=314494

Marking the franchise's first restaurant collaboration in Singapore.

The post Monster Hunter X Sushiro Collaboration Whets(tone) Appetite For Adventure In Singapore appeared first on Geek Culture.

]]>

Capcom’s long-running Monster Hunter series has always brought giant, daunting beasts into focus (it’s in the name, after all), but food is also integral to the core experience. Cooking meals prepares players for the many hunts to come, granting them stat buffs and increased elemental resistance.

In Monster Hunter Wilds, the lack of a canteen means all the work is done on the Portable BBQ Grill or from the base and pop-up camps, with one particular animated cutscene bringing attention to cheese naan, causing sales and demand in Japan to skyrocket.

While the oven-baked flatbread won’t be available for the franchise’s first restaurant collaboration in Singapore, fans can look forward to a limited-time sushi menu and exclusive merchandise starting today, 2 April 2025. The Monster Hunter X Sushiro tie-in will run for seven weeks across all 13 outlets nationwide, held in celebration of the game’s recent launch.

The event spans two waves — the first from 2 to 20 April, and the next from 21 April to 18 May, each featuring a different set of designs. During this period, the Suntec City and Taste Orchard outlets will be decked out in themed decor, from tables adorned with poster art depicting the various eras of the series and life-size standees to visuals of weapons, monsters, and staple elements like the ever-trusty Palico.

As for the special food menu, details for all three dishes are as follows:

  • Thick Cut Southern Bluefin Tuna 6 Way (S$19): Rich, umami flavours of tuna sushi done in 6 different ways. Comes with a random silicon keychain.
  • MonHun Specialist Chicken Drumstick (S$5): Juicy chicken leg that mimics the Master Rank Hammer weapon, Juicy Well-done Hammer, obtainable from an in-game quest.
  • MonHun Dual Blade Pork (S$3.50): Tender pork fillet in the shape of the fastest-hitting weapon in the game, Dual Blades.

The culinary offerings come with a food pick, available in 14 designs, with other exclusive offerings including random silicon keychains packed into blind bags, smartphone cross-body straps, and a chicken drumstick plushie. Customers who spend a minimum of S$20 can purchase up to two cross-body straps (S$10.90 each) during Wave 1 (2 to 20 April) that pay tribute to Jin Dahaad, Yian Kut-Ku, and Arkveld, the flagship monster of Monster Hunter Wilds.

Meanwhile, every order of the Thick Cut Southern Bluefin Tuna 6 Way includes one free silicon keychain (five designs for each wave). The chicken drumstick plushie (S$15.90) is the first offering of its kind, available for purchase with a minimum spending of $S20 in a single receipt.

KFC is kicking off 2025 on a strong note. In celebration of the upcoming Lunar “Mew” Year, the fried chicken restaurant is joining forces with popular Japanese illustration series mofusand for a meow-vellous collaboration, marking the first time a fast-food chain in Singapore has launched an official partnership with the costume-wearing feline character.

KFC Singapore x mofusand

Starting 13 January 2025, fans will be able to get their hands on themed collectibles and merchandise with every purchase of any KFC cereal chicken box or cereal chicken burger box, including red packets, plushie keychains, and an eight-inch plush. Expect two different designs for the red packets from 13 January to 18 February, alongside three variations for the four-inch keychains to be rolled out in consecutive weeks as follows:

  • Week 1 (Bucket): Available from 13 January
  • Week 2 (Egg Tart): Available from 20 January
  • Week 3 (Drumstick): Available from 27 January

Meanwhile, the KFC x mofusand Blind Sticker Pack comes free with a minimum spend of S$12 in a single receipt. There’s a catch, however — it can only be redeemed for breakfast purchases, with three designs up for grabs from 13 January to 11 February.

KFC Singapore x mofusand (2)

The star of the collaboration, the eight-inch KFC Bucket mofusand Plush will undoubtedly garner the most hype when it drops on 5 February. Limited to one per customer, it puts the adorable kitten in a bucket hat and a red ribbon reminiscent of Colonel Sanders’ signature bowtie, and is set to retail at S$19.95. Unlike the restof the collection, the limited-edition toy is only stocked in 10 outlets: Kallang, West Mall, Tampines Mall, Causeway Point, VivoCity, NEX, Jurong Point, Lot 1, Compass One, and Northpoint City.

At the same time, the fast-food chain is also bringing back its seasonal fan favourites, starting with the KFC Chicken Skin in original (S$4.95) and spicy (S$5.45) flavours from 2 to 18 January. The KFC Cereal Chicken will follow after, going on sale from 8 January to 18 February alongside the new Cereal Chicken Burger — “a Zinger fillet coated in buttery cereal goodness sits between soft brioche buns with cheese and mayo.”

Honkai Star Rail X Gong Yuan Mala Tang

Taking place islandwide from 10 September to 9 October, the event is centred around the game’s latest two characters, Jiaoqiu and Feixiao, serving as an apt reference to the former’s character lore. In it, Jiaoqiu is introduced as a skilled practitioner of alchemical prescription, which views food as medicine, especially those that induce a sensation of spiciness.

The Funan Mall and Suntec City outlets, in particular, will boast a themed interior spanning character banners, wall and table decorations, and various collaboration visuals. An exclusive disposable table mat is included by default with each order, featuring Jiaoqiu or Feixiao in chibi form.

Customers who dine in at any outlet will also receive one random postcard after flashing their in-game account during payment. Invite at least one other player and dine in together to receive an additional poster (fixed design) each, with two limited edition stickers — out of four — awarded to those who post photos of in-store decorations on social media with the #HSRxGongYuan hashtag. Do note that a minimum order of 300 grams applies per bowl.

As part of the Honkai: Star Rail collaboration, Gong Yuan Ma La Tang has added a new soup base to the menu. The Szechuan Pepper Soup is lighter and more aromatic than the usual spicy, tongue-numbing fanfare, presenting a more palatable and balanced alternative for those with a lower spice tolerance.

The limited-time event coincides with the launch of the Version 2.5 update in Honkai: Star Rail, releasing 9 September. It will continue the next chapter of the mainline Xianzhou Luofu story and introduce three new character banners: Feixiao, Lingsha, and Moze.

Moviegoers and collectors have a new reason to get excited with the release of Deadpool & Wolverinetwo new popcorn buckets themed after characters from the film are hitting select theatres. These collectible items are becoming a major draw as fans increasingly look forward to these unique mementos with every major film release.

The popularity of themed popcorn buckets has surged in 2024, starting notably with a sandworm-inspired bucket for Dune: Part Two. Ryan Reynolds took to social media in March to unveil the initial design, which featured Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. This design cleverly incorporated Wolverine’s iconic mouth and cowl into the bucket’s structure. Building on this momentum, two additional designs have been introduced, each based on new characters from the Deadpool sequel.

The first of these new designs draws from Headpool, a Deadpool variant making his debut in the movie. This bucket, priced at US$39.99 and available at AMC Theaters, resembles a skeletal head sporting a tattered Deadpool mask and a whimsical propeller hat. According to a post on X/Twitter, this quirky design is already available globally, with sightings as far as Thailand.

The second design features Babypool, another Deadpool variant newcomer in the movie. This bucket depicts the character seated in a movie chair, complete with raised arms and a pacifier. Adjacent cup holders are humorously fitted with baby bottles. While pricing details remain undisclosed, this particular bucket is exclusive to Cineworld theaters.

These latest popcorn buckets are set to be available in conjunction with the theatrical release of Deadpool & Wolverine, which premieres on 25 July. As theaters prepare for what promises to be a packed opening, these collectibles add an extra layer of excitement for fans, blending the thrill of the film with the allure of limited edition merchandise.
