That’s the sound of a Yautja stalking its prey, as the Predator franchise returns to the big screen, and Geek Culture is thrilled to partner with 20th Century Studios Singapore to bring a special fan screening of Predator: Badlands on 5 November, ahead of the film’s premiere. You will be among the first in the world to catch the latest entry in the massive Predator franchise by director Dan Trachtenberg (Prey, Predator: Killer of Killers). We will be giving away 175 pairs of tickets to 350 lucky fans to catch the upcoming film in Shaw Lido’s newly reopened IMAX with Laser Projection!
Unlike previous Predator films that has the alien hunter on Earth as its hunting ground, Predator: Badlands takes place on an alien planet where a runt Dek, cast out from his clan, forms an unexpected alliance with Thia (Elle Fanning, Maleficent), a Weyland-Yutani synthetic. Together, they embark on a perilous journey across the remote planet, seeking the ultimate adversary. Set on a treacherous “Death Planet” Kalisk, Dek and Thia must confront ancient threats and navigate a hostile environment, challenging their survival and the boundaries between synthetic and organic life.

Audiences will also be among the first to catch the film at the newly reopened Shaw Theatres Lido, which is now open for its Phase 1 of operations. The 11-hall cinema has been revitalized with a brand new look, with new screens, new laser projectors, and even new carpets across all the regular and IMAX halls.
The biggest improvement is in the Lido IMAX hall, where the screen has been replaced with a new floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall IMAX silver screen. When paired with the Laser IMAX projection system, audiences will be able to watch the biggest Hollywood blockbusters with the sharpest and brightest images, deeper contrast and the most distinct, exotic colours.
As Singapore’s first cinematic IMAX screen and projector, Lido IMAX comes equipped with IMAX’s 12-channel laser-aligned sound system, offering immersive sound from speakers behind the screens and around the halls, including additional speakers on the ceiling.
To ensure the consistency and quality of IMAX projections, all IMAX cinemas around the world are calibrated daily, ensuring that moviegoers are confined to perfectly tuned sound and images at every screening. And just as no one can escape the Predator… audiences will be locked in for a thrilling time at one of Geek Culture’s screening events! We will have 5 sets of special Predator: Badlands premiums to giveaway during the pre-show in-hall activities, for 5 lucky fans to bring home. Each set of premiums include a distressed washed cap, glow-in-the-dark T-shirt, glow-in-the-dark hoodie, colour-changing notebook and silver vinyl stickers.
Predator: Badlands will stalk into theatres on 6 November 2025.
