Ahead of its release in December 2026, Sony Pictures Entertainment has dropped a first look at its adventure film threequel Jumanji 3, which sees its returning cast decked out in their movie drip with a fitting tribute to Robin Williams, the late actor who starred in the original 1995 film.
Taking to Instagram, the Jumanji team shared the first photo of its main cast, comprising Dwayne Johnson (Red Notice) as Dr Xander “Smolder” Bravestone, Kevin Hart (Central Intelligence) as Franklin “Mouse” Finbar, Jack Black (A Minecraft Movie) as Professor Sheldon “Shelly” Oberon, and Karen Gillan (Guardians of the Galaxy) as Ruby Roundhouse, dressed up in their film outfits, which mirror those seen in its two predecessors, 2017’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and 2019’s Jumanji: The Next Level.
Additionally, Johnson himself posted an image on Instagram of himself in character, revealing that this time around, he will be wearing a necklace containing the dice that was used in the 1995 movie, explaining that it was a way of “honouring Robin and this entire franchise that he started as we film our very last Jumanji“. Williams originally portrayed Alan Parrish in the first film in the franchise, a middle schooler who becomes trapped in the cursed Jumanji board game for 26 years.

Unlike the original Jumanji movie, which centred on a supernatural board game that releases jungle-based hazards on its players with every turn they take, the two modern film sequels transformed the concept into a video game format, where its characters get trapped inside the game and take on different avatars, forcing them to venture through its world to find a way out.
It was also previously reported that the upcoming Jumanji film will be the franchise’s last, so we’ll see if the film can end the saga off on a high note when it releases in theatres on 11 December 2026.
